Accredited Trainer Pilot Program Launch.

The Accounting for Nature® Accredited Trainer Pilot Program marks an important step in expanding high-quality training on the Accounting for Nature® Framework.

This pilot brings together a select group of Training Providers and their nominated trainers who will deliver Environmental Accounting training using approved course materials and guidance. The program is designed to ensure that training delivered externally maintains the integrity, consistency, and credibility of the Accounting for Nature® Framework.

By building a network of Accredited Trainers, the program supports capacity building across the sector, enabling more organisations, practitioners, and communities to develop the knowledge and skills needed to implement Environmental Accounts. It also improves access to training, ensuring users can connect with qualified trainers locally or online, whenever and wherever they need it.

During the pilot, participating trainers will deliver training, provide feedback on course delivery, and help refine processes to support the broader rollout of the Accredited Trainer Program.

The first group of Training Providers and their nominated trainers represent organisations with strong experience across environmental accounting, natural capital, sustainability, and environmental markets. They include:

  • Kilter Rural - Trainer: David Heislers
  • Perth NRM - Trainer: Tibby Tuckett
  • Quentic - Trainer: Christophe Bur
  • RSM Australia - Trainer: Nicki Ledger
  • 2rog Consulting - Trainer: Lucy Healing
  • Woop Woop - Trainer: Dr Elizabeth Pryde

Their involvement is an important step toward building a global community of qualified trainers who can support organisations, governments, and practitioners in applying the Accounting for Nature® Framework.

Keep an eye on upcoming training opportunities through these providers—activities will be available on our Events Calendar, or you can get in contact directly using our Trainer Directory to connect with Accredited Trainers and deepen your Environmental Accounting expertise.

Soil ECI webinar_no time

Webinar recording now available: Soil Ecosystem Condition Index - an Accredited Method for soil biodiversity.

Accounting for Nature recently joined as a guest in a webinar hosted by NatureMetrics to discuss the launch of the Soil Ecosystem Condition Index (Soil ECI), the world’s first method for measuring, reporting, and valuing soil biodiversity using an Accredited Method under the Accounting for Nature® Framework.

During the session, Laura Plant and Dr George Muscatt from NatureMetrics were joined by Chrissy Elmer from Accounting for Nature to explore how the Soil ECI converts thousands of microbial biodiversity data points into a single, trusted ecosystem score.

The webinar highlighted how the Soil ECI supports organisations to:

  • Simplify complexity: Turn eDNA data into a 95% accurate Soil ECI score

  • Validate claims: Support regenerative and biodiversity reporting using an accredited, credible Method

  • Report upward: Deliver clear, board-ready insights on soil ecosystem outcomes

As a guest and certification body, Accounting for Nature emphasised the importance of scientific rigour and transparency in creating tools that are both credible and actionable for sustainability teams, ESG leads, and environmental consultants. The conversation also highlighted the growing need for credible measurement frameworks and for using environmental accounting certification to independently verify reporting on nature outcomes.

The webinar is now available to watch on-demand.
